Bio
Isabella Avila-Recillas is an Interdisciplinary and Mixed-Media Artist born in 2004 to two Mexican immigrant parents living in Novi, MI. Currently studying in College For Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan soon to graduate in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Art and Design. The main focus of her work being in Accessory Design and Photography with an emphasis on Leather work and Fabrics, using it as a form of storytelling of personal narratives and expression. Isabella’s work responds to more personal events impacted by memories in the past, nostalgia, and how it shapes one’s image in life; like a “consequences to your actions” along with outside influences.
Isabella has previously had work displayed in the Scholastic Art+Writing Exhibition winning a silver key and 3 honorable mentions (2019-2022), Tri-County High School Exhibition in Wayne State University (2021), an Interdisciplinary class exhibition hosted in the Scarab Club (2022), and The College for Creative Studies Student Exhibition two years in a row in 2023 and 2024, It’s a prestigious school-hosted exhibition curating the best works in the fall and winter semester of the year.
